Hjaltalín's Enter 4 comes three years after the album Terminal. 'Terminal' received widespread critical acclaim, both in Iceland and abroad selling almost ten thousand copies in Iceland alone and won Best Album at the Iceland Music Awards. Enter 4, which truly is one of our all time favourite albums, was recorded in the village of Garður in South-West of Iceland, and in a summerhouse in the countryside. It is full of warmth and intimacy but maintains the dark and gloomy elements the band are known for. Although hard to describe the general style of the album, as always, the music of Hjaltalín is characterized by ambitious instrumental playing and the very special chemistry between the two singers, Sigríður Thorlacius and Högni Egilsson.
"Vocals and swelling strings weave through skittering, trip-hoppy drum patterns to build songs obliquely addressing loss of self, fragmentation and isolation. Melodies are insidiously nagging" --Mojo ****
"This is one of the most extraordinary albums I've ever heard. A masterpiece" --The Sunday Times
